NEWS (8/26/08): I am down to 2000 books so if you are interested for Fall 2008, please let me know immediately. I am running the numbers today to see if we are going to do another printing this year. If we haven't met, I'm Stephen R. Brown, the photographer who produced "Jewel of the Mall". My resume of work is available online . As the photographer and publisher, I can offer the book at $10.00 to Honor Flight. For those of you used to the $8.00 price, my printing costs have skyrocketed so I've had to raise the price. The list price is $24.95. Honor Flights have found it the perfect memento for veterans. After some experimentation, it's been found that the easiest place to give the vets the book is at the end of the trip. Some networks use the book for fund raising and i ask only that you sell then for at least the list price of $24.95 or use it as an equivalent base for "contributions" so as to not interfere with my other distributors which include Smithsonian, Amazon, and Barnes and Noble. The book is also available at the National Gallery of Art and all of the Smithsonian Museums. A good review can be found at National Parks Traveler. It's a soft cover book 8.5x11 inches for easy transport . The paper stock is the best available and the rich color is produced on an eight color press in Buffalo, New York. The books have to be purchased in cases of thirty which cost $20.00 per box to ship UPS ground and arrive in three days. I can take credit cards or checks....whichever you find most convenient. I also greet the flights and do a blog on the WWII Memorial, Honor Flight and general events around the Memorial. The pictures are put on a website and can be downloaded in the their full original size by the veterans and their families.
